ON WAKING FROM SLEEP

     Observe the gap before the mind has had time to begin its dialogue.  There is simply a space in Consciousness.  The dreams have ended and the waking dream has not begun.  Who are you now?  Look!  Penetrate to the Source of your Being.


 
 




WITH LITTLE KIDS

     Do not come from a role. Do not think of yourself as older, or as parent or grandparent, male or female. Just be where they are and experience the moment with them. Do not try so hard to teach them. They will teach you.


 
 




WHEN MIND CHATTERS

     When your thoughts are racing uncontrollably, direct your attention to understanding the mechanism of the mind and how it works. Observe it, see its contradictions, its lack of space, its need to be constantly occupied with sensation from one thing or another. In the seeing, detachment will take place. Who is observing it? The 1st person subject is different from the 3rd person object in your thoughts.


 
 



ON THE FREEWAY

     See the street moving toward you, rather than you moving on the street trying to get somewhere. As you observe the street’s movement, you will see the entire passing scene is moving through you and that you are still. You are the stillpoint in the turning world. Anything that moves is not you – your body, thoughts, sensations, and the entire environment.

 
 




IN ANY ACTIVITY

     Stress comes from thought. To get out of thought, shift your attention to awareness of what is happening NOW. Be aware of how you talk, how you walk, how you feel . . . or whatever is happening in this now-moment. Be watchful of everything that is going on, both within and outside of the body’s boundaries. You will discover the boundaries are an illusion. You ARE the awareness!
